Westoe Netty Print by Robert Olley Discovery Museum Author: Moira Kilkenny and JoyceRobert 'Bob' Olley was born in 1940 in South Shields, on the North East coast of England. He is best known for his painting Westoe Netty (Netty or nettie being a term for toilet in the local Geordie dialect). The painting is a comical picture of the men's urinal that was Westoe Netty. The lavatories originally stood on Chichester Road near to its junction with Imeary Street and Westoe Road in South Shields. 40 x 63cm signed by the artist
