Some poor examples of the style create a stout and then throw lots of hops at it; we don't do that. With carefully selected malts adding color and mouthfeel, but not too much acidity or roast character, the hops can shine through more without competing with burnt roasty flavors. With dank piney hops and a dark color, it's a great hoppy beer for the cooler months
