The four full width drawers in our black lacquer oriental chest are mounted on wooden runners to give an easy action when they are opened and closed

These are known in Chinese as 'bawangcheng' (literally 'giants arm braces')

strong enough to provide additional seating

as an elegant hall table or as a narrow desk with useful storage in the drawers

Sideboard, Blue and Black finish-lacquer The four full width drawersThis four door sideboard is a more rustic version of the classic Chinese double sided cabinet, the distressed powder blue doors framed beautifully by the surrounding thick black lacquer frames. There is a removable shelf behind each set of doors. Note that as each piece is individually made, the distressed black and blue finish will vary slightly on each one.
