Costello was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1940. Shortly after moving to Iowa in 1957, he entered the commercial art field where he gained recognition as a gifted staff artist. In 1976, he left his job to become a self employed artist, devoting all of his time to painting. Patrick is a self taught, highly motivated artist.
