For an effective ban, menthol and all its analogues and derivatives should be completely prohibited in all tobacco-related products and accessories. Citing the presence of multiple harmful substances, the research report pointed out, "There is a need to regulate synthetic nicotine in the same manner as tobacco-derived nicotine." The report specifically emphasized, "The claim that synthetic nicotine is a 'pure' substance is not true," and added, "It is advisable to manage synthetic and tobacco-derived nicotine without distinction, as is done in foreign countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada." With the government having decided on its stance to regulate synthetic nicotine, attention is now focused on whether discussions on related legislation in the National Assembly will gain momentum
