RARE Antique c.1720s French Portrait Miniature, 18k on Top of Ivory Snuff Box 3" ewer and within the genre madeDecades in my collection, this miniature portrait dates to earliest 1700s, and was once the top of an ivory snuff box (see edges). A handsome gentleman, perhaps known to the court of Louis XIV. If you recognize him, please email. Thank you. The portrait is definitely in an 18k gold mount. Some would remove him from the carved ivory roundel, but my choice has been to leave him thus. Could be framed, as well. Very good condition for age and type. It
