Messini Palace - Wheku Tahi Matte Black Kowhaiwhai Size XSM SML MED LRGWheku Tahi A Wheku represents a tpuna (ancestor) and kaitiaki (guardian) and is often found at an entrance to a whare or the apex of a gable of the Whare Nui. Wheku Tahi is one of Messinis first cast pieces and is based on a collaboration with friend and Master Carver, Michael Matchitt. Individually hand crafted using stone (or resin) and finished with four layers of acrylic paint and pua inlay eyes, a process that takes at least a week to complete
