Mike was an extremely well respected builder who started building in Ohio around 1986 and then moved to Appomattox VA and later to Chapel Hill NC. He was friends with the famous builder Bart Reiter and was known for reasonably priced banjos of high quality, but some of his custom models such as this banjo was very ornate.
